If you love discovering new loot all the time, do not do this one, as you'll get pretty much all the gear you want pretty early and the rest of the game will be boring. If you play dos2 without it, it is far better just based on quality of life enhancements than the original. The unleashed mod you mentioned changes a lot about the combat of the game, more than just numbers, making it almost as if someone who loved dos2 said "I could write that game better", and did.
